After the MA.. 修士取得を終えて。

Just a few things I wanted to say...


So I finished my MA few months ago, with Distinction (!),

which had been an amazing experience.

Spending a whole year focusing on what I want to do, creating garments with the facility

we don't have in Bunka, living on my own in a beautiful old flat, in a small city of Nottingham-
everything was new to me. Hard at times, but really wonderful.

The result and the response of my work was great, couldn't be more happier.

And most of all, a great year of meeting amazing people and friends.

I think its a miracle that we all met coming from all over the world,
 during such a short period of time in our lives!!

Thank you to all my friends, family and teachers.

Thank you for all your support.

I'd also like to announce that my work is going to be shown at an exhibition in Nottingham!

CHEEKY STITCHES

Date: 21st-28th October 2011

Place: Corner House 2nd Floor Gallery Space

There will be a cat walk show on the opening day,

showing mine and other artists/designer's works.

Exhibition includes fashion/art/ceramics,etc.

Being back in Japan feels unreal, a little uncomfortable, but I'll cope
since I have my friends and family close with me.
I truly miss the life I had in Nottingham & London though..
I hope the MA peeps are all well and look forward to seeing you at some point!:)


The next step in my life.. I will be launching a brand with a friend from Bunka!
We're still under preparation, but I will keep you updated.


Also, personally, I'm trying to search for beautiful places in Japan.
I'm in love with europe, so now I want to fall in love with Japan!
cos I've been living away from my home country for so many years..
So I'll randomly post images and notes on this as well.

イギリスで無事修士号をとり、日本に帰国して3週間近くが経ちました。
毎日毎日イギリスが恋しくて仕方ないです。帰ってきたらみんなが
立派に働いていたり、成長していたりして、なんだか寂しくもあります。
まだ心にぽっかり穴があいてる部分があります。
が、
こっちでの生活も
少しずつ積み上げて行きたいです。わずかだけど、
確かにスタートしているので、わくわくしています。
私の性格上、過去は振り返るけど、それは
今につながっているので、前は向いています。
ノッティンガムとロンドンでの生活は、確実に今の私につなげてくれました。
なのでしっかりと伸び続けていきたいです。

First step into Scandinavia...

A trip to Bergen, Norway during August. Found playful and heartwarming design of ceramics, interior, fabrics, stationary, etc..  Stone floors and wonky wooden houses, surrounded by sea and mountains - amazing panorama view! This trip has given me even more willingness to explore Scandinavia and their aesthetics. MUST go to Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The weather was ever-changing. Clouds were low but the sun will shine through at times. There is definately something magical about this land... fascinating.

旅に毎回恋してます。どんどん、どんどんたくさんの別世界を覗くたびに、言葉にできない大感動が待ってる。

ノルウェーの旅もそうでした。ヨーロッパの国はたくさん訪れたけど、北欧は初めて。

ロンドンもパリも、何度来ても大好きだけれど、ベルゲンという街を見て、ふと
将来結婚しておじいちゃんおばあちゃんになったらのんびりと暮らしたいなって思いました。　

今回で、北欧への好奇心がさらに掻き立てられて、次に行けるのはいつか

わからないけど、もっともっと他の国も探検したいです。フィンランド、スウェーデン、デンマーク・・・

考えるだけで・・ドキドキする・・う～！

だから旅が大好きです。

次回はフィヨルドの壮大な景色をご紹介します。

Good news... わくわくする話

I have couple of good news...

1. I will be exhibiting my embroidered neckpieces (see previous post) for

Premiere Vision 2011 (Sept 20th-22nd)under the group name of studiomade@ntu

in the Indigo area. This will simply be for promotionand not for selling.

Am so happy!!

グッドニュースその１．プレミエールビジョンにてネックピースを数点出展します！

若手デザイナー、卒業生、学生によるテキスタイル展示スペース、インディゴ内の

ブースで展示します。私はテキスタイルではなく、仕上がった作品／商品の展示をし、

刺繍されたテキスタイルの活かし方を提案する、という形です。

2. An editor from Embroidery Magazine, Jo Hall has contacted me to put my work

in their coming November/December issue. Thank you so much for taking interest,

I believe this will be a great oppurtunity to get my name out there!

グッドニュースその２．イギリスで発行されているEmbroidery Magazineの編集者から

連絡があり、私の作品を取り上げたいと言ってくれました！びっくり！

大変ありがたく、光栄に思います。これが何かに繋がることを祈ります。

１１月／１２月号に、Graduate（今年度卒業生）特集、というような記事が掲載されると思います。

Here are some images from the PGD Phase of my MA. These are embroidery samples

in order to test the fabric, and how the stitches interact with the

weight/characteristics of the fabric.

These were great fun to do, as each experiment came out with an interesting result.

Also exciting because I had never used the multi head machine before.

And now I have a great library of fabric×stitches which I can keep looking back.

上の写真は、院のコースの中盤（１月～４月）にやっていたデジタル刺繍のサンプル。

生地の重みや性質によって刺繍の表れ方が変化したり、刺繍の種類によって

違う効果があったりと、このサンプル作りはすごく面白かったです。文化にはない施設、

新しい発見の繰り返しでした。サンプルをいくつも作った結果、

今はサンプルのストックができました。これは今後見返したり、

サンプルを使ってドレーピングしてみたり、一生役立ってくれると思います。
